We know that people with disabilities are not always asked about their relationships by health or care professionals. This can make it harder to talk about concerns, especially if abuse is happening within your family or caring relationships.

If you’re worried about how someone is treating you, we are here to listen and support you. You do not have to go through this alone.

We understand there may be barriers to seeking help – particularly if the person harming you is also your carer, or if you are looking after them. You might feel unsure whether you’re allowed to make decisions about your own life, or scared about what might happen if you do.

You have the right to feel safe, respected, and heard.

We will:

  • Take the time to listen to your experiences

  • Help you understand your options

  • Work with you to increase your safety

  • Talk to professionals involved in your care if you would like us to

  • Advocate on your behalf where needed

We also have a dedicated Disability Advocate who understands the additional barriers disabled survivors may face. We can provide:

  • Easy-read information

  • Assistive technology

  • Hearing loops

  • Communication support

  • Accessible venues or visits

Our service is inclusive and accessible. Please let us know what you need to feel safe and supported.
